What is an EMDR intensive?

An EMDR intensive is a powerful, time-efficient way to create significant emotional shifts. Your intensive involves 6 hours of targeted therapy over one week, delivered as three 2-hour sessions.

This format is ideal for people who want to step back from daily demands and focus on resolving something where they have felt stuck. Many clients find intensives more cost-effective and efficient than traditional weekly therapy—what is gained in the 6 hours of EMDR intensive work seems to usually takes around 10 hours of standard sessions.

Despite the name, intensives can sometimes feel less emotionally taxing than weekly therapy. With fewer gaps between sessions, the process can feel smoother and more contained, without the stop-start effect of diving into deep work and then immediately returning to work or family responsibilities.

EMDR intensives in Margaret River, allow clients to treat their therapy week as a personal retreat or “healing holiday.”
